Design, test, document and update complex proprietary software applications. Provide analysis related to software design and development, and solve problems. Formulate operating system advancements and perform improvements. Evaluate impact of hardware on software performance and recommend changes to hardware designers. Serve as team leader for a group of Software Engineers.

Requires Masters degree with a major or concentration in Information Systems, Computer Applications, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or Mathematics, or a Bachelors degree (or foreign equivalent) with a major or concentration in Information Systems, Computer Applications, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering or Mathematics plus five years of experience in the job offered or five years of progressive experience as a Software Engineer.

Responsibilities:
Work with Marketing to understand and deliver on new market and business requirements for new types of Internet intelligence as well as improved coverage, accuracy, speed and reliability of existing products.

Responsibility for driving the resolution of research issues. Since the team includes many engineers that will help with that process, the person filling this position must have a combination of excellent technical knowledge, leadership, and consensus skills.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of five years technical experience and two years technical and people management experience
• Strong team building and motivational skills
• Proven track record of defining, planning and managing applied research projects
• Advanced degree in engineering, computer science or mathematics a plus
