There are four basic error types that might be returned from DOTS Address Validation - Canada web service. Each error has a number and a corresponding description.

Errors:

Desc AS string, Error message literal.

Number AS string, Error message numeric.

1. Unknown Internal Server Error. Users will most likely not see this error.

2. Missing required elements for possible match or invalid key, match aborted, see description element.
-Your license key does not work on this service.
-Please provide a valid license key for this web service.
-The total allowable number of transactions for this license key has been exceeded.
-The daily allowable number of transactions for this license key has been exceeded.
-This license key has not yet been activated.
-This license key has expired.
-The monthly allowable number of transactions for this license key has been exceeded.
-There are not enough transactions available. Check your daily/monthly transaction limits.
-Please input a street address.
-Please input either zip code or both municipality and province.
-Could not parse address*
-The street number you have entered is not valid for the given street.
-Address does not appear to be valid.
-This is not a valid PO Box for this area.
-Multiple PO Boxes match. Bad Postal Code.
-No results found.

3. Internal Error - SQL Timeout Error. Users will most likely not see this error.

4. Internal Error - DB Unavailable. Users will most likely not see this error.
