DOTS Address Geocode - US instantly determines latitude and longitude coordinates based on your United States street addresses. It does this by checking the address against a database gathered by the Census Bureau and enhanced by TIGER/Line (Topologically Integrated Graphic Encoding and Referencing) file to improve accuracy and demographic coding.

Latitude, longitude, block and tract calculations are based primarily on the 2007 TIGER/Line data set provided by the Census Bureau's TIGER Mapping Service. The TIGER/Line data is enhanced by using the USPS ZIP+4 data tables and other various sources. The combination of the TIGER, ZIP+4 and other sources improves geocoding accuracy and guarantees a property-level match for virtually any address which successfully standardizes. more
DOTS Address Geocode - US also has reverse geocoding functionality. Reverse geocoding is the ability to translate a latitude-longitude coordinate to find a street address. For example, DOTS Address Geocode can find the nearest address for application with a latitude and longitude coordinates (which can be acquired from GPS, a wireless cell phone, or a database).
